It was the aim of the founding members of the club to promote, improve and maintain the German Longhaired Pointer as a working gundog.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><br><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\">In 1997, the breed was accepted onto the import register and by 1999 the Kennel Club registered the breed club.&nbsp;<\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text ); font-family: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-family ), Sans-serif; font-weight: var( --e-global-typography-text-font-weight ); font-size: 1.8rem;\"><br><\/span><\/p><p style=\"text-align: center;\"><span style=\"color: var( --e-global-color-text );
