Committee

The committee aim to maintain and promote the German Longhaired Pointer as a loyal, affectionate and versatile gundog and is dedicated to ensuring the future of the breed.

Stephen Kimberley

CHAIRMAN

Steve has worked and trialled German Longhaired Pointers for many years and is an A panel field trial judge, a professional gundog trainer with a vast knowledge of the breed and also the Chairman of the HPRFTA.

Jonathan Gallant

VICE CHAIRMAN & MEMBERSHIP SECRETARY

Jon is a keen shot and regularly shoots over his longhairs, he has owned a German Longhaired Pointer for many years.

Kathy Connor

CLUB SECRETARY

Kathy has owned hunter pointer retrievers for over 20 years and has owned and trialled her German Longhaired Pointers for over 10 years as well as being a non panel field trial judge.

Frances Smart

TREASURER

Frances breeds and works her German Longhaired Pointers as well as being active on the show scene.  Frances has owned German Longhaired Pointers for many years and regularly trials her dogs as well as being a non panel field trial judge.

Coshy Kimberley

FIELD TRIAL SECRETARY

Coshy has owned and trialled gundogs for over 20 years and as well as being an A panel field trial judge, she runs Kimberley Gundogs and is a breeder of German Longhaired Pointers and has recently started showing her longhairs.

Julia Tuck

SHOW SECRETARY

Julia has bred dogs for many years and is active on the obedience scene and in the show ring.  Julia has owned hunter pointer retrievers for many years and owns a German Longhaired Pointer whom she exhibits at obedience events.

Theo Gould

BREED HEALTH COORDINATOR & VETERINARY ADVISOR

Theo is a veterinarian with a wealth of knowledge of the breed.  She has bred and trialled several field trial champions over the last 20 years and is also an A panel field trial judge.

Sarah Gale

COMMITTEE MEMBER

Sarah is relatively new to HPRs, she and her husband brought home their first GLP in 2019 and welcomed their second in 2023. 

The latest addition is Sarah’s project and she’s enjoying showing him and hopefully training him towards being a useful shooting companion!
